We started telmoraqix in 2018 because spreadsheets weren't cutting it anymore. Turns out, when you give businesses and individuals better tools to model their financial futures, they make smarter decisions. Who knew?

How we got here

From a shared office space in Darwin to helping thousands across Australia model their financial scenarios with confidence.

2018

The frustration that started it all

Darren couldn't find software that let him test different retirement scenarios without needing a finance degree. So he built a prototype. Then his neighbour asked to use it. Then their accountant. And suddenly we had a business on our hands.

2020

When everything changed

During lockdowns, enquiries tripled. People wanted to model job changes, business pivots, loan restructures. We added flexible scenario templates and same-day support. Our small team worked ridiculous hours, but we kept every client moving forward.

2022

The rebuild nobody asked for

We scrapped half our codebase and started fresh. Why? Because the platform was getting clunky and we were spending more time fixing bugs than adding features. Not glamorous, but necessary. Took eight months, but now we can actually ship improvements without breaking things.

2024

Growing without losing ourselves

Reached 4,000 active users across Australia. Opened our second office in Brisbane. Most importantly, we kept what matters: real humans answering support tickets, transparent pricing, and no sales calls. Just honest tools that help people think through their financial choices.

What's next

This year we're rolling out collaborative scenarios so advisors and clients can model together in real time. We're also testing an educational series for small business owners. And yes, we're still answering every support email ourselves.

Co-Founder

Spent fifteen years as a financial advisor watching clients struggle with static projections. Built telmoraqix because he was tired of explaining Excel formulas at 9pm. Now spends most days talking to users and occasionally remembering to eat lunch.

Fiona Cartwright

Head of Product

Joined in 2020 after running product at a fintech startup that went nowhere. Brought discipline to our chaos and convinced us to actually talk to users before building features. Refuses to use the word synergy, which is why we hired her.

Where we're heading
